RGBing

RGBing is an interactive, educational installation developed under the supervision of Massimo Banzi, co-founder of Arduino. This project was designed to demystify the RGB (Red, Green, Blue) color model, a concept widely used in technology but often misunderstood by the general public.

The installation invites users to engage with physical cubes, placing them in designated spaces that are monitored by ultrasonic sensors connected to an Arduino.

RGBing serves as both a hands-on educational tool and an interactive art piece, allowing participants to explore and understand the fundamentals of color creation in a tangible and engaging way.

The distance between each cube and its corresponding sensor is translated into a specific RGB value, allowing users to see how different combinations of cubes create new colors on a display panel. The entire system is encased in laser-cut panels, combining sleek design with functional electronics.
